Welcome to Christ Episcopal Church of Tuscaloosa, Alabama!

Christ Episcopal Church was organized January 7, 1828, by the Rev. Robert Davis who had been rector of Christ Church in Reading, Louisiana, agent of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society of the Protestant Episcopal Church. It is the second oldest Episcopal Church in Alabama and the oldest church building in Tuscaloosa.
The clergy and parishioners of Christ Church are at the forefront in helping meet a variety of community needs, particularly for the ill and the poor. We support and volunteer for such agencies as the Community Soup Bowl, Hospice of West Alabama, Spouse Abuse Shelter, Operation Warm-Up, Boys and Girls Clubs, Tuscaloosa Emergency Services, Caring Days, Christmas in April, and Meals on Wheels. The Episcopal Churchwomen, by bazarrs, sales, and contributions raise thousands of dollars each year, all of which they gave away to causes and needs outside the parish.
