Education for Ministry
Every baptized person is called to ministry. The Education for Ministry (EFM) program
provides people from all walks of life with the education "to be" Christians and to carry out
their ministry.
EFM is a world wide, four year program developed by the School of Theology of
the University of the South. It is a comprehensive study of the Old and New Testaments, a
study of the history of the Christian church, and a study of theological thought and
development. Local classes meet weekly September through May and enrollment is for one
year at a time. There are no tests and no grades but you can obtain 18 Continuing
Education Units per year by participating.
Enrollment periods are limited to one time per year. Classes meet at Christ Church both on Monday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Class size is limited to 12 students. The cost per year is payable by August 1st. Contact Sydney Cummings (345-4003) regarding the Monday class or Nita Caldwell (758-4252) if interested in the evening class. (If scholarship assistance is needed, please contact the rector.)
